stunning Mediaeval 12th century Chateau D’Agel – a beautiful wine-growing property
located in the controlled label of origin Minervois in Languedoc, next to the Black
Mountain and the limestone (Causse) of Saint Jean de Minervois.
The Château with its eye-catching quartet of towers and dovecote - tucked away in
a valley of the Haut Minervois surrounded with hillsides, terraces and vineyards
- is a very special place.
It has a unique rich captivating history, which will surely hold your imagination
as you wander its vast halls, terraced gardens covering five acres, or pause for
reflection in the imposing Library.
The spacious bedrooms offer style and sophistication and there are superb wines
and stunning cuisine to enjoy. There is also a swimming pool.
The village of Agel itself is located on a South facing rock outcrop in a meander
of the river Cesse. It can be reached by road on the "Minervoise" wine route, halfway
between Béziers (40 km) and Carcassonne (50 km)
